Shawn Ervin
Shawn Ervin was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1995 and started practicing law in the San Jose area with a focus on commercial, real estate and employment litigation. Since moving to Sacramento in 1999, Mr. Ervin expanded his area of practice to include estate planning, probate, trust administration, and taxation.
Since becoming a founding partner of Collins, Ritchie & Ervin in 2011, Mr. Ervin has focused his practice on improving the lives and economic security of his clients.
He has crafted custom tailored estate plans for clients ranging from those with relatively small estates to those with significant and diverse assets. He takes the time and effort to guide grieving family members through the probate and post-death trust administration process. He has represented many clients regarding disputes over the administration of trusts and estates.
Mr. Ervin understands the needs of aging clients, and has assisted families planning for the care of elderly and disabled love ones through effective estate planning, administration of special needs trusts and conservatorships. He is also very familiar with the guardianship process to provide for the custody and care of at risk and vulnerable children. Mr. Ervin is regularly appointed by the court to represent elderly and disabled adults in conservatorship proceedings.
He continues his career long practice of representing individuals, corporations and business owners in breach of contract, debt collection, commercial and real estate litigation.
Throughout his legal carrier, Mr. Ervin has maintained a focus on providing results for his clients in the most cost efficient way possible.
